Our Favorite Entertainment Attractions
Broadway at the Beach is a fantastic entertainment complex - shopping, eating, entertainment - it has it all. You can travel on an underwater, moving sidewalk surrounded by sharks at Ripley's Aquarium or play mini-golf in a castle that is protected by a fire-breathing dragon that puts on quite a show every twenty minutes. You can also make your own stuffed animal at the Build-a-Bear Workshop. Myrtle Beach's Hard Rock Cafe is located here, as well as a number of seafood and other specialty restaurants like Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and Johnny Rockets. For those who miss the old Pavilion, the "Pavilion Nostalgia Park" is located here. You can also shop at stores such as Victoria's Secret or watch "Legends in Concert". This is definitely an all day entertainment complex and we have just scratched the surface. Check out their website to see all that it offers. About a 20 minute drive from Oceanside Village.
MagiQuest is a unique attraction that our family enjoys at Broadway at the Beach. The kids (ok - Dad admits to having one too) buy magic wands to become a "magi" and have to complete "quests" to earn "runes" by solving riddles. They point the magic wands at items in the room and these items come to life. It is all computerized and very high tech. Tough to describe, but a lot of fun. About a 20 minute drive from Oceanside Village.
Our kids really love the Mount Atlanticus mini golf course. It is actually two 18-hole courses that wind their way up through "tree-house" structures 3 stories high and around a huge water structure with falls and a pond. A nice view when played in the evening during the summer. About a 20 minute drive from Oceanside Village.
If you enjoy go-carting, then NASCAR SpeedPark is the place for you. It has seven different kinds of tracks to race on. Also has a mini-golf course, bumper boats, video arcade and other attractions. About a 20 minute drive from Oceanside Village.
Just minutes away from Oceanside Village, there is no better place to cool off and have fun than the water slides and lazy river raft ride at Wild Water and Wheels. There is also a mini-golf course, an arcade and a variety of go-cart rides. About 2 minutes from Oceanside Village.
WonderWorks is another attraction that is tough to describe, but well worth a visit. The premise is that the building was a top secret lab that was trying to harness the power of a tornado. They lost control and flipped the building upside down. Inside is over 100 hands-on exhibits. Lie on a Bed of Nails, visit the Hurricane Shack or pedal the Xtreme 360 Bikes until you flip upside down. There is also an indoor ropes course and Lazer Tag.
